Leon Manus, of Nashua, NH passed away on Friday, October 26, 2012 at The Elms Care and Rehabilitation in Milford, NH. He was born in Gonaives, Haiti, on October 20th, the son of the late Edmond and Berenice (Pelissier) Manus.
Leon was raised and educated in Haiti. After graduating high school he went on to attend the School of Law in Haiti earning a master’s degree in law. He then established his own law firm where he practiced law for many years until his retirement. Leon and his wife Aline then relocated to Nashua in 2000. He enjoyed reading, writing, music, dancing and loved all sports. Leon greatest passion was life itself.
He is predeceased by three brothers, Felix, Jean and Gabriel Manus, and four sisters, Leonide Mathelier, Gisele Beaufils, Olga Manus, and Claire Manus.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Aline (Bloncourt) Manus of Nashua; two sons, Charles Manus of Bethesda, Md and Louis Henry Robert Joseph of Hamilton, NJ; two daughters, Elizabeth Manus Gonzalez and her husband Jean Paul of Paris, France and Martine Manus Menard and her husband Jean Pierre of Nashua; two sisters, Jacqueline Elie and her husband Emile of Queens NY, and Eberthe Manus of Pittsburgh, PA,; five grandchildren; Soukaina Gonzalez, Nathalie Menard, Jonathan Menard, Natalie Joseph, and Pascale Joseph; a sister-in-law, Consuelo Manus, of -Queens, NY; many nieces, nephews and cousins; including Maggy Beaufils Apollon, Jessy Beaufils Nadal, Ronald, Jean, and Carine Elie, Sara, and Oliver Manus, Marie Carmelle, and Jean Marie Mathelier, Florence Rouzier Kepler, and Sabine Rouzier Dupuy, the Manus Family, Gonzalez Family, Menard Family, Elie Family, Mathelier Family, Dupuy Family, Bloncourt Family, Appolon Family, Nadal Family, St. Remy Family, LaForest Family, Roy Family,C Latortue Family, Kepler family, Coq Family and the Pinkombe Family; and Mireille Senat of Haiti as well as many friends in Haiti.
Calling Hours will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2012 from 9 AM to 10:30 AM at Zis-Sweeney Funeral Home, 26 Kinsley Street, Nashua, NH 03060. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, 216 E. Dunstable Road, Nashua, NH. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made in Leon’s name to Hope for Haiti’s Children, P.O. Box 62328 Cincinnati, OH 45262.
