John E. “Chad” Chadbourne, Jr., 53 of Nashua, NH passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at his home. He was born January 15, 1961 in Northampton, MA, son of Nancy (Davis) Chadbourne and the late John E. Chadbourne.
Chad graduated from Lynnfield, MA high school, class of 1979 where he was active in sports and his love of sports remained all of his life. When he was young he would take his friends to visit Bobby Orr often as he only lived around the corner, and he was always treated graciously. He started working at a young age, as a paperboy in his neighborhood, and after high school working at the Boston Stock Exchange, as a sales representative for American Standard, and most recently at Haddon House Foods. He attended Westfield State College and Northeastern University. He enjoyed camping, motorcycles and listening to classic rock, favorites from Thin Lizzy to Led Zeppelin. Chad was a strong, caring, compassionate and kind man who loved to cook, loved animals, loved his friends and most importantly, loved his family. He was the best dad ever.
He is survived by his two children; Nick Chadbourne of Lawrence, KS and Dani Chadbourne of Manhattan, KS, both college students, his mother; Nancy (Davis) Chadbourne of S. Portland, ME, a sister; Jane E. Chadbourne of Venice, FL, two nephews; Colin C. Rice of Denver, CO and Alexander C. Rice of Venice, FL. He is also survived by other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his father; John E. Chadbourne in 2005 and his wife; Doris (Petroules) Chadbourne in 2008.
Visiting hours were held Sunday, February 2, 2014 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm in the Zis-Sweeney Funeral Home, 26 Kinsley St., Nashua with a service that began at 3:00pm. Cremation followed. A memorial service will be held in the early summer in both Maine and in Woodlawn Cemetery.
