

He was born in Stoneham, MA on May 17, 1943, the son of the late Alfred P. Gorman, Jr. and Josephine H. (Marshall) (Gorman) Leelman.
James was educated in the Lexington, MA school system, graduating from Lexington High class of 1961. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in business from Nathaniel Hawthorn College. He was employed for 28 years before his retirement as a Security Administrator for Sanders, now BAE Systems. James’ greatest love and passion in life was the Military. He was a true American serving his Country for many years in the United States Air Force. He was a life long member of the VFW, and the American Legion. He enjoyed camping, and attending air shows. James was a very social person, and loved spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, James is predeceased by his step-father, Arvid B. Leelman.
James is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Patricia (Belaik) Gorman; a son, Jim Gorman, Jr. and his wife Maureen of Derry, NH; a daughter, Kristina Gorman and her husband Kevin Hartson of Nashua; three brothers, Alfred P. Gorman, III of NC, Martin Leelman and his wife MaryEllen of MA, and Richard Leelman and his wife Megan of MA; two sisters, Marcia Gorman and Trish Leelman both of MA; an aunt, Shirley Nestor of Ma; two grandchildren, Ryan and Nicole Gorman both of Derry; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visiting hours were held on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 from 4 PM to 8 PM at ZIS-SWEENEY FUNERAL HOME, 26 KINSLEY ST., NASHUA, NH 03060. A service was held in the funeral home at 7 PM. Burial will be held on Monday, September 13, 2010 at 11:30 AM at the NH State Veteran Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH 03303. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in James’ name to the Community Hospice House, 210 Naticook Rd., Merrimack, NH 03054, or the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
