Anthony J. Kudalis Jr.

Anthony J. Kudalis Jr., 93 of Nashua, passed away on Friday, September 10, 2010, at Hunt Community Home in Nashua, after a long illness. He was born in Nashua, NH on August 6, 1917, the son of Anthony J., Sr. and Eva (Ermalovich) Kudalis.

Anthony was a lifelong resident of the Gate City. He was educated in the Nashua school system.

He was employed as a Manager of Research and Development for Sanders Associates, retiring in 1982 after 27 years of service. Prior to his employment at Sanders Associates he worked at Nashua Buick.

Mr. Kudalis was a World War II U.S. Marine Corps veteran and served in the UMTB 131 torpedo bomber squadron. He was at the capture and defense of Guadalcanal and also served on the islands of Guam, Saipan, Iwo Jima and Okinawa. Anthony was awarded the Asiatic-Pacific ribbon with six stars, the American Defense ribbon with star, a presidential unit citation with one star, a navy citation and the Task Force 58, American Theater, Good Conduct and Victory ribbons. He held the rank of Master Sergeant and was discharged in 1945. Anthony was a lifetime member of the VFW Nashua Post 483 and the Nashua Senior Citizens Association. He

enjoyed camping and fishing and was the owner and instructor of the Arthur Murray Dance Studio.

He was pre-deceased by his first wife Anna (Adams) Kudalis in 1987 and by two brothers Joseph Kudalis and Alfred Kudalis and by three sisters Anna Kinney, Eva Kudalis and Virginia Kudalis.

Anthony is survived by, his wife, Constance (Michaud) (Bleau) Kudalis of Nashua; two sons, Anthony J. Kudalis III and his wife Elaine of Las Vegas NV and Steven Kudalis of Nashua; a daughter, Patricia Lange and her husband Michael of NH; three grandchildren, Svetlana Lange and Masha Lange both of NH and Austin Saunders of Las Vegas, NV; two step-daughters, Susan Ducharme and her husband Arthur of Merrimack and Donna Boucher and her husband Normand of Florence, SC; four step-grandchildren, Melissa Thomson and her husband David of Merrimack, Marci Baker and her husband Rickie of South Korea, Craig Boucher of Nashua and Derek Ducharme and his partner Krystal Parolisi of Merrimack; three great grandchildren, Austin Thomson and Angel Thomson both of Merrimack and Meka Baker of South Korea; two sisters, Jennie McLean of Damariscotta, ME and Josephine Clemons of Nashua.

Visiting hours were held on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 from 5 PM to 8 PM at the ZIS-SWEENEY FUNERAL HOME, 26 KINSLEY STREET, NASHUA, NH 03060. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thursday, September 16, 2010 at St. Christopher Parish in Nashua, NH at 10 AM. Burial with military honors followed at Edgewood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Anthony’s name to the Home Health and Hospice Care of Nashua, 22 Prospect St., Nashua, NH 03060, or the Hunt Community Home Scholarship Fund, 10 Allds St., Nashua, NH 03060.
