To  the family of David Zarate; 
We'd like to express our deepest condolences.  We were shocked to read of his passing.  Our family knew David and His grandmother, Chrisina, in Brownsville.  He was very mature and hardworking and he loved his family.  


To my brother David from your sister, you will be missed by many. Your generosity will be your legacy. And your son and daughter are the gift you left us. Sorry you departed so early. Know that you were always in my prayers. May the Lord allow us to have a joyful reunion in heaven someday. Thank you for the love you showed to my son Daniel and my daughter Cindy. Your memory will always be in their hearts. With love, your sister Alma.

I met David in 1979 I was dating his sister Alma Leticia at the time who I would later marry, his family was worried that he would not be to happy at the news but not only was he extremely welcoming we became very close friends and brothers in law. I remember a lot of great times with David  too many to list, he was a fiercely loyal friend and brother in law. David will be greatly missed and my sincerest condolences to his daughter Christina and his brothers Saul and Edward. I'm so sorry I cannot be there but please know that myself and his nephew Daniel, niece Cynthia and their mother Alma Leticia share in your grief. I will always remember David as someone who would do absolutely anything for his family and loved ones, may he rest in peace.

David was our wise and considerate friend.  My wife and I met David 17 years ago when we took one of our cars to him for a repair.  He had been recommended to us by our friends, Frank and Doris Shupp, who had befriended David.  He did excellent work and didn't charge us an arm and leg for the work he did.  It was evident that he really wanted to help people who had car problems.  He not only did the work, but provided an understandable explanation of what what needed and what he did when he took on car repairs.  At first we knew him as a gifted mechanic, but as time went by he became a friend who we could talk with about many things.

We miss David and wish the best for his family and other friends who will miss him too.

I have known David many years as both a good friend and a superb and honest mechanic! We first met him years ago, through Frank and Doris  who were longtime friends of Davids.
We are deeply saddened to hear of his death but he will always be alive in our memories. 

David and I shared a valuable bond through our mutual love of dogs .... He loved his Akitas so much over the years and we spent hours talking dog! One of my special memories of him is the special hand made dog biscuits he would buy at the mall. He would always give me one for each of my dogs!!!

  The world has lost a very special person... and he will be greatly missed.....
