Rudolph Henry Eickhoff, 82, of Napoleon, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Maumee, Ohio. He was born on January 8, 1933 to Charlie and Emma (Mahlman) Eickhoff. Rudolph was a 1950 graduate of Napoleon High School. He joined the Air Force in 1952, serving in the Korean War. After returning from military service, he began his 33 year career with the United States Postal Service, including 11 years as the Postmaster of the Napoleon Post Office. He was a former member of the Lions Club, Masonic Lodge, American Legion, AmVets, and also volunteered as an EMT in Napoleon. Rudolph liked to woodwork, and enjoyed camping, collecting bells, and loved eagles.
He is survived by his four children and nine grandchildren, Marc Eickhoff of Napoleon and daughter Emma, Daryce (Dan) Rolander of Napoleon and daughters, Kelsey and Marlea, Collette Hackworth of Ft. Myers, FL and sons, Travis, Chad, and Garrett, and Laura Eickhoff of San Antonio, TX and children, Luca and Sabrina; and great-granddaughters, Lyla and Alice. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 45 years, Sandi Eickhoff; son Eric Eickhoff; and siblings, Reimund, Mike, Ike, and Herbert Eickhoff, and Lola Sweinhagen.
Friends are invited to visit on Sunday, August 2, 2015 from 2pm to 6 pm at Snyder-Wesche Funeral Home in Napoleon. Funeral Services will be held at 11am on Monday, August 3, 2015 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Napoleon, Pastor James Castello, officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Riverview Memory Gardens in Defiance. Memorial donations are suggested to the National Parkinsons Foundation. .
