While I am so saddened by the promotion of Mrs. Suter (Jane) to heaven, I am so joyful that I got so many wonderful years as her mentee and friend.  I met Mrs. Suter when I was in preschool at just 3 years old.  I’ll be 39 soon and still couldn’t let a year go by that I didn’t connect with her.  36 years of wonderful memories.  Mrs. Suter was there for my confirmation (as my sponsor), for weddings, divorces, laughs and tears.  My favorite memory is a wedding card my wife and I received for our wedding 2 years ago.  Jane showed the world what true unconditional love is ♥️

How to describe Jane is not an easy task, as she was just  such a loving person, open, friendly, and with a wry sense of humour. 

She had  a wonderful way of making  people feel welcome, and for my husband and I to have had such a lovely couple as her and Jack for neighbours in what was to us a new country, was truly a blessing. 






Dear Jack, John, Teresa, and Beth,

I want to pass along my condolences for your loss.  I have many fond memories of Jane mostly from my childhood when your family would visit Indiana, we would vacation together or just spend summer together.  She was a kind soul that will be dearly missed.  Words can be difficult to find at times like this but just know you are all in our thoughts and prayers.  God Bless!

We have lost a dear friend that I've known since 1970. We have shared many walks, our time teaching at pre-school, bridge games, many phone calls back and forth from Bloomington to Naples, and most of all our discussions about our faith.   Not only was Jane a dear friend  to me she was a friend to many.  Her friends were her treasures. Now she will be enjoying more new friends in her heavenly home .  Here's to love and friendship, Jane! We have been blessed to share your friendship!

Roy and I want to express our sincere smypathy to your Family.  We loved Miss Jane and enjoyed the 3 1/2 years we lived next door and even since we moved away.  We did get to see Jane 2 weeks before she passed and was important we saw her as we cared for her.  We enjoyed Jane's witty sense of humor!  She was always pleasant to be around.  She will be missed!!!

Mrs. Suter raised great kids and married a great man,  Many fond memories growing up accross the street and Jane was the coolest mom on the block. I first met Jane when my daughter, Kim, was in her preschool class. She was an awesome teacher & Kimmie (as Jane called her) was lucky to have her as her teacher.  Our friendship developed and we supported each other through good times and bad times over the years.  I have many fond memories of our chats over lunch.  Jack probably wondered how we could possibly always have so much to talk about when our visits went on for so long.  Jane's faith was very strong and was an important part of who she was.  I was very blessed to have Jane as a dear friend.  She was truly a gift to me for over 30 
years.  I will really miss her kindness, laughter, & friendship.

We have only known Jane for 2 years since we moved to Pelican March.  She always has a big smile on her face that was contagious. She was a joy to be with. We will sadly miss her.

     I want to let you know how sad we are to hear about Jane’s  passing. She was a bright light to everyone who knew her, especially to me when I was a new comer to Springfield. She was always up for a walk in Washington Park, or to have lunch at the Feed Store, not to mention our many drives to Decatur for Bridge. I came to know and love "Sara Jane" Suter through our Pi Beta Phi Alum Club in Naples, Florida.  She and I had an ongoing joke about me calling her Sara Jane and it always brought a chuckle to both of us.  She was an insightful and thoughtful person.  We all came to see that through our interchanges at book club.  How fortunate all the Pi Phis were to know her and how sad we are to see her leave us too soon.  My love and condolence to her family. To the Suter family:
We only had the distinct pleasure of  knowing Jane since November 2021. When we moved into our house (next door to Jack and Jane) she was the very first neighbor who came by to say hello, and we would often meet as we both went out to the mailbox for todays treasures. Jack and Jane were over to our house a number of  times, and we were on their back porch many times as well, and we all enjoyed fun and  lively conversation, helped along by a glass or two of fine wine. Jane was a very sweet, engaging indiviudal, and my wife Julia and I will miss her charming personality and her easy availability. Those of us that knew her, even if it was only for a short while, such as we next door neighbors, will miss her smile and her beautiful soulfulness. Rest in Peace Jane.
