I have only known Roger for a few years, maybe 7 or 8, but he was always a gentleman, witty, and an avid helper to any who needed help. He was always ready to help anyone in need.
He was a great friend who helped me in my time of health problems, and I still find it difficult to believe Roger is no longer with us, since he and I talked only two days prior to his passing.
He loved his family and sent me many, many emails with pictures, etc. His family and grandchildren came first in his life.
He will be missed by all who knew him.  
May the good Lord bless you in your loss of Roger and give you comfort as you will have countless wonderful memories during the many years you shared life with him.

Shawn, Shannon and family, your dad was a wonderful man. I'll forever remember the days when he'd pick us up from the school dances and then we'd spend the weekend in Springville. He'd have us busy with fun activites and always had us laughing with his humourous personality. You were so very blessed to have him in your lives and I know he'll be greatly missed. We wish we could be there with you, but we send our love and deepest condolences.  We lost our Dad very early in our lives, but both of you gave your Dad the opportunity to see you grow and be so proud of what what you have become ... and he was proud of his family!  Each one of you held a special place in your Dad's heart ... Shawn, Shannon, Steve, Shanie, and Steve.
You all have been in our thoughts and prayers, asking God to bring you peace and know that your Dad is in a better place without pain.

I have known Roger for several years through our animation group.  In the pictures posted here, you can tell by the look on his face that he loved his family and enjoyed life.  It looks like he had many adventures. I am proud that I got to know him these past years even if we never met in person.  He will certainly be missed by all of us.

Sad to say I only knew him from our animated tag group. He was always cheerful and pleasant to talk to. Any photos I've ever seen of him he had a very bright smile. He will be missed by us all.

Roger was one of my three roommates in Monrovia, Liberia, 1965 - 1967, while in the Peace Corps.  He always had a little different take on the world and events,that I appreciated, with his great sense of humor.  Was an interesting group of roommates; John T. Smith, a retired New Your City Judge & attorney, Charles Hartwig, later Dr. Hartwig. PhD, college professor, Roger with his early interest in the medical profession, even then, and me, lowliest of the group, who became an insurance underwriter & broker.  Contrary to traditional PC image we lived in a very large 4 bedroom, 2 bath apartment, on the top floor, on the main street of Monrovia.  It also had a very large covered & uncovered patio from which we could view the events of the city.  We had quite a few interesting discussions in that place and I can still see Roger sitting on the patio wall, looking down on the city, smoking a cigarette, at sunset.  He and I reconnected a year or two ago when he found me on the internet and I am very happy he did.  I have several pictures of him administering first aid to Liberians out in the country on his weekly rounds as well as other events.  I really enjoyed looking at Roger's life story, in pictures posted on this site and appreciate those who did this.  A life well lived and he will be missed.

I met Roger thru our animation group. He always requested tags for his family and friends. He was a gracious man and loved to comment on my tags. I miss his wit and kindness so much. RIP dear friend.

I will never forget the love and laughter you brought to my day whenever we were together.  We were not a close family in distance, but the love we shared for each other could always be felt.  I don't have many stories to share, but you were one mischievous little boy at times who turned out to be a wonderful, caring, loving son/brother/father/Papa/friend.  I will see you again when we will continue right where we left off.  I love you and miss you so much.  Keep those angels laughing until we all meet again.  Your loving sister, Bev
