Pedro was born on December 15, 1929 in Camajuani, Cuba to the late Zoila and Eduardo Placeres.
Pedro, along with his wife and two children, migrated from Cuba in 1967. He was dedicated to his family and work tirelessly to make a better life for them in Naples, FL. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandson. He was infamous for being the family trickster and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Pedro is survived by his wife of 70 years, Esther Placeres and his daughter, Zoila Pontide (Raul). Pedro will also be fondly remembered by his five grandchildren, Michael Pontide (Vanessa Smith), Jennifer Pontide (Henry Chavez), Kristina Placeres Gear (Kody), Daniel Placeres (Anabel Medina), Dorian Perez, his great grandson Kaleb Chavez, his brother Eduardo (Mary), his niece Milays (Sergio) and great nieces Jennifer and Estephanie in Cuba, and his godson Ernesto Perez (Steve).
He was preceded in death by his son, Pedro A. Placeres.
The family is planning a private service to celebrate Pedro's life.
