Paul R. Thornton, 78, of Naples, FL, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Monday May 22, 2023, at Physicians Regional Hospital after a lengthy illness. Paul was born August 14, 1944, in Gary, IN, to Richard and Janet (Roper)Thornton. Paul married Elaine in January of 1968, throughout the years they lived in MI, IN, OH, and finally called Naples, Florida their home to retire. Paul had friends near and far, many lifelong friends from places they lived, and destinations they traveled on vacation. To know Paul was to know a good time, typically on a boat, or at their favorite restaurant, or across the table playing cards. Paul is survived by his sister, Marcia Robson, his wife, Elaine, their son Chris(Kara), and 3 grandchildren, Erin, Bee, and Riley. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
