Judy was a remarkable woman with abilities to host a party at the drop of a hat, whip up some miracle on the sewing machine, help others through their rough spots and show love to those she encountered. Her first job was in a bank, she was one of the first women to work for Orkin and she wasn’t afraid to show anyone that a woman could do a man’s job, she taught home economics at Florida Bible Christian School and she worked in the business office of Florida Bible College. Judy returned to school in her early 40’s and received her bachelors and master degree in social work at Barry University, where later she was an adjunct professor. Her degree led her to an 18 year career at Miami Jewish Home for the Aged impacting the lives of many families.
Judy is survived by the love of her life, her husband, Larry Salinetro. Together celebrating 20 years of marriage just 3 days after her passing. Judy and Larry were able to travel, dance, sing together, visit their grandchildren and enjoy their garden home in Naples. Judy’s legacy is the four strong daughters she raised and their families. Survived by Barbara (Steven) Slowik, Anita Carnahan, Linda (Sonny) Morgan and Paula Morrison. She is survived by her step-children Angel (Clark) Tauson and Donny (Jessie) Salinetro. Her grandchildren will miss her dearly, survived by Cheryl (Ray) DiIulio, Logan Groselle, Bailey and Sawyer Morgan, Cameron and Carly Carnahan, Madison, Hayden, Cleo, and Alexi Tauson, and Ella Salinetro. The joy of Judy’s life were the added blessing of great grandchildren, Raymond, Daisy, Rocco and Olive. Judy is survived by her uncle, Geoff Gladwin. Her brother, David Gladwin. Nephews: Joseph and Edward Salinetro, Michael (Carol) Edwards, Douglas Hamilton, Danny (Michelle) Hamilton, David (Stacy) Hamilton, Jonathan Salinetro, Christopher Salinetro. Survived by her Nieces: Dana Labishinsky and Dawn Sylvester, Helen (Rob) Heybrooke-De Mare and Cousins Adrian and Clive Gladwin. Her many great nieces and nephews will be remembering Judy, David Swinbank, Jacqui (Stewart) Hunt, Danny Heybrooke, Sav De Mare, and Bonnie Heybrooke-De Mare. Judy is survived by her extended in-law family, John and Anna Salinetro, Eddy and Chris Salinetro, Annette and Tony Pocchi, MaryLee and Smitty Smith, all will miss her dearly.
Judy was preceded in death by her sister, Wendy; her mother Olive, her step-mother, Dot and her father, George Gladwin. Her mother in law, Toni Salinetro preceded her most recently. This time of sorrow is a time of rejoicing in a life spent serving the Lord, singing, dancing and living each day as a gift. Judy would want you to know that this life is just a moment that you need to not waste. Her many struggles with the ills of this world just caused her to fight to live each day to the fullest. She was a friend to so many. Her family appreciates all the prayers and support.
Visitation will be Saturday, October 31, 2015 at 10:30 am at Hodges Funeral Home at Naples Memorial Gardens, 525 111th Ave N, Naples, FL. Funeral Service will be at the funeral home at 11:30 am.
