James Wayne Kincaid “Jim”, 92, passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at his home in Naples, FL. He was surrounded by his family.
Surviving Jim are his wife of 70 years, Ruth Ann (Leahy) Kincaid; his son, James Kincaid (Sunny); his daughters: Maureen Kincaid (the late Jim Ozark); Susan Imburgia (Ray); Patrice Swan (Frank), and Kelly Buchnat (Paul). He was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Kincaid; and his sisters; Jeannie Leisten and Judy Buzcek. Jim was the grandfather of 14,and great-grandfather to 13. He was beloved by all who knew him and he leaves behind many close friends.
Jim was born in Joliet, IL to Mary Katherine “Mabel” Breen and James Edgar Kincaid. He spent much of his childhood in Milwaukee, WI where he met and married his lifelong love, Ruth Ann. Jim enjoyed a successful career in the transportation industry, and the family resided in a variety of states including, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Ohio. In 1969, Jim was promoted to Vice President of Sales for Clipper Exxpress Company, and moved to Glen Ellyn, IL, where he remained until 2017.
Jim attended North Division High School in Milwaukee, WI. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1943 and served in World War II. Jim was stationed on the island of Tinian where he worked as a radio operator. After the war, he married Ruth Ann and embarked on a sales career where he found much success.
Jim was a passionate golfer, shrewd gin-rummy player, and a friend to all that knew him. Above all, he was a devoted husband and loving father. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and most especially, with Ruth Ann. Jim was a parishioner of St. Petronille Church in Glen Ellyn, and a member of Epiphany Cathedral in Venice, FL.
A funeral service with be held at 10:00a.m. on Wednesday, May 31st in Naples, FL at St. John the Evangelist Church.. A celebration of Jim’s life will be held in Glen Ellyn, IL at a later date.
