After many wonderful years of life with his exceptional family, Gary has moved on to bigger and better things as to continue his amazing work with his spiritual world. We all know this because of his teachings with us here on earth. During his time here, he was always up to something, music, the arts, yoga and meditation, running the beach, or biking the streets of Naples. He completed many triathlons, half marathons, and marathons. I'm sure everybody has seen him with his long grey hair and beard riding his one wheel through town, stopping to talk to anyone, mentoring those who needed it.
He attended Naples High School, joined the army/airborne division and at 17, with his older brother Larry, 19, they went off to Vietnam. (agent orange) After finishing his tour and back home he stepped in to help his dad Virgil, with the family's home build industry. Then comes the awesome family he put together, he was blessed with all of them, job well done my friend, you will be missed by many.
He was preceded in death by his father Virgil, his brother Larry, his sister Jodie, and his son Jerry.
Gary is survived by his mom Ruth, sister Vickijo, brother Rusty, daughters Oona, Naomi, and Ashley and son Zach and their mom Jorie, along with their families, which include 12 grandkids, 2 great-grandkids. Many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends, Frani, Linda, Carol, and his four legged friends, Brindle, Chicken Bone, Blinky.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Hodges Funeral Home at Naples Memorial Gardens, 525 111th Ave N, Naples, FL 34108. Family will gather starting at 1:30 PM.
