Gail Myers Rider

Gail Myers Rider, age 88, of Naples Florida, passed away on April 15, 2025. Born December 10, 1936 in Jamaica, Queens, NY to Glenn Howard Myers and Flora Case (Hine) Myers, she was the oldest of 3.

Gail is survived by her husband of 66 years Robert (Bob) Rider and by their children Nancy and her husband Richard Beckert and James and his wife Michelle Rider, their grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Megan and her husband Christopher Beutel and their sons Ryan and Aiden; Timothy and his wife Joan Beckert and their daughters Allison and Elizabeth; Emily Rider and her fiancé Evan Topham; and Samuel Rider. She is also survived by her sisters Linda Boucher and Susan Howard.

Graduating from Oxford School in Hartford, CT, Gail attended Connecticut College and graduated from Katherine Gibbs in Boston. She began her professional career as an executive secretary at Connecticut Bank & Trust (Hartford, CT). After raising her children, Gail returned to executive administrative roles at First Church of Christ (Farmington, CT) and then Bartram and Cochran (Hartford, CT) before she and Bob retired to Naples in 1999.

Throughout her life, Gail was active and took on leadership roles for numerous community organizations that included the Junior League (Hartford and Springfield), The Blandford Club (Blandford MA), Big Pond Association (Otis, MA) First Church of Christ (Farmington, CT) and Naples United Church of Christ. When not working or volunteering, Gail would fill her days with her various other interests and talents which included golfing, gardening, music, bridge playing, taking walks, traveling or planning and hosting gatherings of family or friends at their summer lake house in Otis, MA. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her well.

A private family service will be held.
