Antonio Nicola Rotondo

Antonio Rotondo, who grew up in Castel Frentano, Abruzzi, Italy, died Sunday, December 16, 2018, surrounded by his family.

He was born Dec. 6, 1952, son to Raffaele and Giovani Rotondo (both deceased). He is survived by his older brother, Joseph Rotondo, who he always enjoyed and admired, and three older sisters Angela, Rosalia, and Maria.

He was an incredible husband to Karen Rotondo.; a wonderful father to his two sons, Raffaele and Antonio Jr.; a loving father-in-law to their wives Kristy and Lindsey; and a fantastic grandfather to Ava, 11; Liam, 8; Antonio, 6; ,and Logan 2 months old.

Antonio was cheerful and loving to all of his many relatives in Italy, as well.

In 1979, Antonio, Karen and 1-year-old son Raffaele moved from Youngstown, Ohio to Naples, Florida, with brother Joseph. Soon after, Antonio Jr would be the first Florida born Rotondo.

Antonio’s started as a construction labor and would later transfer to heavy equipment operator for the city of Naples. Antonio would later follow his passion for cooking.

After both of Antonio’s sons were adults, he pursued a career in cooking for a healthcare community as a certified dietary chef.

Antonio always wished the best for his family, and instilled in them to do the best they could and work smarter not harder.

Later in his career, Antonio would retire for a short portion of his life to be the primary caregiver to his ailing wife Karen, but would still work part-time with his brother at the healthcare community.

His loves included working in his yard, Italian food and being Mr. Fixit. He treasured time with his family and friends. His warm, welcoming spirit and radiant smile will never be forgotten by any that were blessed to have met him.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 05, 2018 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 625 111th Ave. N., Naples, FL 34108
