Richard Peter Seward, a beloved father, passed away on January 23, 2024. He is survived by his sister, Rita Graitson. Pete's departure leaves a void in the heart of those who knew and loved him, but his memory will forever be cherished by his family and friends.
Born December 9, 1939, in Vancouver, B.C., Pete was a self starter who embraced life with unwavering determination and a heart full of love. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, resilience, and a deep passion for the things that brought him joy.
A dedicated truck driver by profession, Pete spent many years on the open road, navigating the highways with skill and precision. His love for classic cars was evident in every journey, as he appreciated the beauty and craftmanship of these timeless vehicles. Whether behind the wheel of his truck or cruising in his 1960 Corvette, he found solace and joy in the open road.
Beyond his love for classic cars, Pete was an avid boater. The gentle waves and the freedom of the open water provided him with a sense of peace and tranquility. His boating adventures were not just a hobby but a reflection of his adventurous spirit and love for exploration.
Travelling was another of his great passions. From road trips to far-off destinations, Pete embraced the opportunity to create lasting memories with those he held dear. His adventurous nature and willingness to explore the world made him a wonderful companion on any journey.
Yet, amidst all his adventures, Pete was a devoted father. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and lessons in resilience. His three children, Kathy Davidson, Eric Seward, and Judi Dube, and his grandchildren and great grandchildren were the lights of his life. He took pride in watching them grow and sharing in their triumphs.
Pete had an innate ability to lend a helping hand, offering support and comfort to those in need. His kindness and generosity were felt by family, friends, and even strangers fortunate enough to cross his path.
As we mourn the loss of Pete, let us remember the vibrant spirit that defined his life. May the memories of his love, his adventures on the road, the joy of classic cars, the serenity of boating, and the warmth of his helpful nature bring comfort to those who grieve.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Alzheimer Foundation or the Alzheimer Association of British Columbia.
A celebration of Pete's life will be held on a later date where friends and family will be invited to join in remembering and honouring a life well-lived.
May Pete rest in peace, forever cruising on the roads of eternity.
