Mike, as known to most, was taken far to soon but not before an epic fight as he would of course. Mike, for 15 months never gave up and not once did he make a fuss. He held strong until it was his time to start his next journey.
He leaves behind his soul mate Francine and son Donovan the joy of his life which he called "his everything" and loved dearly. Parents who he cherished and respected, Dan and Teresa Rogers, Valerie and Neil Sorensen, Frank and Maxine Cooze.
His life was also made complete and wonderful with siblings that he always behind closed doors talked about how great they were, he was a proud Big Brother. He always bragged about his younger siblings and spoke of their amazing qualities.
Brad (Alisha), Hadyn (Simin), Kendra (Ben), Ashlan (Chris) plus the most perfect little nieces and
nephews. Mike also had many Uncles, Aunts, Cousins and dear friends. Mike loved family gatherings which always involved some sort of hilarious board game or great discussions and debates over Golf, Baseball, Politics and Movies.
He was an accomplished athlete who excelled in any sport that he decided to take up however his true passion and love was Baseball hands down. Through his love, commitment and excellence he was able to secure a college scholarship in the US and then continued by sharing his experience and enthusiasm through coaching, umpiring and throwing continuous balls for Donovan and Everett whenever he could.
We will never forget his amazing smile and fun loving personality. He will never be forgotten and continue to live through the many great stories that are told and the memories we all hold near and dear.
A personal note from his son Donovan -
Mike Rogers was my Dad. My Dad was the best dad in the world. He taught me everything to know about baseball and golf and told me to always do my best and have fun and be nice and funny. He told me he loved me all the time. He was my best friend. I love him so much and miss him so much.
Thank you Donovan
