Harry was born August 26th 1958 to Jack and Iris Cubbage in Vancouver. He was the oldest of 5 children and is survived by his siblings Colleen, John, Jerry and Juanita. Harry grew up in Cumberland, before attending his final high school years at St. Michaels University School in Victoria.
Victoria is where he met his wife, Sharon. They were together for over 42 years. Harry was a loving husband and father. He leaves behind his children Josh, Sarah and Meghan, as well as his grandson Henry.
Harry was a Canon copier technician for 40 years and retired in 2022. He was an avid sports enthusiast, loved music, and greatly enjoyed good food, friends, laughter and sharing stories. Harry had an amazing sense of humour and chose happiness even in the most challenging times.
Finally, Harry loved a good party. We will be celebrating him on May 25th 2024 at the Nanaimo Rugby Club (6700 Dover Rd, Nanaimo, BC) at 2:30pm. There will be speeches, slide show, a toast to him, open mic to share Harry stories and a live band to follow. Tacky t-shirts and/or Hawaiian shirts encouraged as those were an integral part of Harry’s aesthetic.
“All these places had their moments
With lovers and friends, I still can recall
Some are dead and some are living
In my life, I've loved them all”
