Willie graduated from E.J. Campbell High School and Angelina College. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Willie worked for Texas Farm Products for over 25 years. He was a woodworker, jack of all trades and enjoyed gardening. Willie was a member at Iron Wheel Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Mack Burns, Jr. and Emma Jean Watson Burns, Chatman.
Willie is survived by wife of 20 years, Hazel Burns of Nacogdoches; daughter, Shemika; grandchildren, Alantis and Ashunte; siblings, George (Dana), Archie (Diane), Charles (Kim), Norma (Bill); aunt, Alice Joyce Rogers; mother-in-law, Lula B. Upshaw; sister-in-law, Mary Upshaw and a host of nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Willie will be held Friday, January 26, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors, 5400 North St, Nacogdoches, Texas 75965.
