Stephen Clark Price, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born on October 23, 1952, in Greenville, Texas, Stephen dedicated his life to serving others as both a pastor and a special education teacher. He also had a passion and career in photography where he worked for a defense contract company.
Stephen's journey began in his hometown of Greenville, Texas where he grew up in a loving home and enjoyed riding his bike around Lake 5, playing with his lifelong neighborhood friends, and going camping with the Thompson family. After graduating high school, he went to college at Stephen F. Austins State University and completed his degree in Human Resources at East Texas State University. He later returned to college to get his teaching certificate at ETSU. Stephen married his high school sweetheart, Cindy Marshall, with whom he shared a loving partnership that lasted for 50 years. Together, they raised two children: Amanda Price Cordova of Nacogdoches, Texas and Austin Clark Price of Walnut Creek, California.
Throughout his life, Stephen was known for his unwavering commitment to the Lord and his family, his sense of humor, and kind and gentle spirit. His 30 years of work as a special education teacher allowed him to advocate for those with diverse needs, while his role as an ordained minister, which started at the age of 26, provided spiritual guidance and support to countless individuals. Additionally, Stephen was an active member of the Celebration Choir at First Baptist Church Nacogdoches, with his joyful voice and lifted hands he enthusiastically praised the Lord. After a cancer diagnosis, Stephen retired to spend his time in the battle of his life to gain his health, and in the process, found a reason to teach from different platforms. Stephen authored and published a children's book, Hope and My Dad, written to help children cope with a parent’s cancer diagnosis and to inspire even the youngest reader to realize that hope is present if only we look for it. Stephen was an avid gardener and found a way to use this hobby to minister to people during the isolation of COVID. This led to him producing and hosting 49 episodes in his video series, “Grow Together” that was designed to encourage others and direct people to the Lord.
Stephen was preceded in death by his parents Virginia Jo Cozart and John Clark Price; sister-in-law Shannon Marshall Trad, and sister-in-law Melissa Marshall Sheppeard.
