Mrs. Burk was born March 8, 1935 in Appleby, Texas to parents Bernhardt Louis Geldmeier and Lillian Mary Wolsiefer Geldmeier. She graduated from Nacogdoches High School. Mary Ann worked as a bookkeeper for the Mize Department Store and retired from the Nacogdoches Post Office. Mary Ann was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a country girl at heart that loved her LORD through the smaller things in everyday life. She loved her family, flowers, gardening, listening to her water fountains from the front porch, and seeing the stars/heavens at night. Mary Ann loved canning tomatoes, feeding the birds and taking care of her cattle in Central Heights. She enjoyed cooking for her family; she was an excellent baker and pies were her specialty. She was a woman of great faith and dedicated servant of the Lord.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Maury Robin Burk; siblings, Bernard Geldmeier, Raymond Geldmeier, Rosine Anthony, William Geldmeier, Marjorie Davis, Dorothy Boruff, and Pearl Youngblood. Her survivors include: daughter, Cindy Burkart and husband Philip; son, Michael Burk and wife Debbie; daughter, Rosemary Burk and husband Jan Kallberg; grandchildren, Andrew Burkart, Benjamin Burkart, Jonathan Burkart, Christopher Robin Pope, and Isaac Maury Burk Kallberg; brother, Clarence Geldmeier and wife Patsy; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services are set for 1:00 PM, Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel. Interment will follow at Rock Springs Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 1:00 PM, Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at Cason Monk-Metcalf.
