Marian Candler Richardson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, was reunited in glory with her Lord and her loved ones on March 12, 2022. Well done, my good and faithful servant. Marian was born July 30, 1944 in Lynchburg, VA.
She attended James Madison College and received a degree in education, teaching English, French, and Spanish. She married Ken Richardson in 1966. Marian moved to many different states with her family, including Pennsylvania, Nebraska, California, Texas, Tennessee, Maryland, and Louisiana. Her two children, Bill and Beth, were born in Beaumont, TX. Marian lived longest in Lake Charles, LA- 25 years- moving to Nacogdoches, TX in 2021 to be near her son and daughter-in-law. Marian was a talented seamstress, sewing clothes and gifts for family and friends. She loved Airedale Terriers and all her other mixed breeds, yard work and gardening, baking, and was a voracious reader. Marian loved to play hymns on the piano and keep in touch with friends and family from across the country. Marian was devoted to her Christian faith, sharing love and kindness to others. She was involved in Bible Study Fellowship for many years, and was a prayer warrior, keeping a continuous list of prayer requests for others and faithfully lifting others up in prayer. Marian has 6 grandchildren, all the delight of her heart.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Maxine Candler; and her sister, Patricia Tuttle.
Marian is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Ken Richardson of Lake Charles, LA; son and daughter-in-law Bill and Channing Richardson of Nacogdoches TX; daughter and son-in-law Beth and Don Lordo of Oak Ridge TN; and six grandchildren: Reese, Jack, Olivia, Elizabeth, Raine, and Malachi.
A visitation for Marian will be held Wednesday, March 16, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors, 5400 North St, Nacogdoches, Texas 75965, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM.
Marian will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Park, 5127 North Street, Nacogdoches, Texas.
