On August 25, 2013 life changed forever when God delivered a most beloved child into this world and into the arms of loving and delighted parents. It changed again when God draw that baby into His own eternal arms 57 days later. Liam Jay Hyde entered into the embrace of His heavenly Father October 19, 2013 having impacted every life he touched.
Liam was born in Nacogdoches, Texas to parents William and Summer Hyde, and to his big brother Kaleb. He was also welcomed into a large extended family with joy and thanksgiving. Though his time in the heart of the family was too brief, Liam has been God’s perfect gift and a great blessing. While his time on earth did not allow him to learn all the things his parents hoped for him, Liam instead taught incredible lessons about courage, endurance, faith and hope. It is because of Liam that his family has learned what it means to lean on the everlasting arms of God and one another.
While his little body could not persevere, through Christ, Liam’s spirit lives. His family has put their hope not in the empty promises of this world, but in the faithful promises of God Almighty who, through the death of His own Son, has conquered sin and death once and for all. What a broken world has torn apart, they believe in faith God will restore through the resurrection of Liam’s body and their family.
“For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.” (1 Thessalonians 4:16) “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you” (1 Peter 1:3-4)
Liam is kept safe in Heaven, fully alive to health, abundance and a future God has planned for him as the story of his life continues to be written. His parents and family rest on the assurance that “Jesus swallowed up death forever; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from all faces, and the reproach of his people he will take away from all the earth, for the Lord has spoken.” (Isaiah 25:8)
Until that day when they will reunite on the new and resurrected earth with the son they love and long for, through the unbreakable promises of God, his parents and his family will remember with thanksgiving the precious days given to them with Liam and celebrate his unconquerable spirit with joy.
Liam was loved on this earth and survived by his parents, William Jay and Summer Elise Hyde and his big brother Kaleb Jayden Hyde. He has been loved well by grandmother, Tammi Hyde, grandfather Robbie Hyde and grandparents Julie and Kevin Brandon. For now, Liam leaves doting uncles and aunts; Trey Sampson, Angela and Davis Ross, John and Brandi Catron, Ryan Dailey, Haley Brandon, & Summer Swearingen. His loving great-grandparents are H. L. and Jean Brandon, Linda Bailey and Eula Miley. He is also loved by many other family members and family friends.
Friends and family are invited to a celebration of Liam’s life and God’s faithfulness Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Grace Bible Church in Nacogdoches. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors.
Together we will look ahead to the “times of refreshing that come from the Lord . . . until the time comes for God to restore everything, as he promised long ago.” (Act 3)
