Johnny Wayne Payne

Johnny grew up dearly loved by his family and friends. He had a love for football and played as a defensive lineman at NISD. Before graduating, he joined the U.S. Marines. During his career he served his country with pride and fought hard in Desert Storm, among other battles. He loved his job and would have continued to fight if it had not been for a knee injury. He loved going fishing and watching football.

Johnny was predeceased by his father, Robert Payne in 1973; and brother, Terry Burch in 2012.

He is survived by his mother, Martha Burch; siblings, Peggy & husband David Rosenbaum, Russell & wife Kim Payne, Harold & wife Christy Burch, Matt & wife Amber Rye, Ricky Burch, and Pamela Payne; along with many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 20, 2018, at Christian Life Center in Nacogdoches officiated by Pastor Bailey Alders. Interment will follow Monday, September 24, 2018, at the Houston National Cemetery.

Friends and family are invited to a visitation from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 19, 2018, at Cason Monk-Metcalf.
