James "Rickey" Richard McCartney Jr., age 69, of Nacogdoches, Texas passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2022 in Tyler, Texas. Rickey was born March 7, 1952 in Shreveport, LA to parents James Richard McCartney Sr. and Mary Corinne Hughen McCartney Rawls.
In his free time, Rickey loved to play games with those he loved, spending as much time as possible in nature hunting and fishing. He was a diehard LSU and New Orleans Saints fan. Sundays in the fall, Rickey would be found on the couch with his wife Debbie with a big bowl of popcorn as they watched the Saints game together. He loved to spend time with his family, but most special to him were his two grandsons. Rickey was a loving and caring man who touched many loves.
Rickey was preceded in death by his parents; brothers; Robert Wayne McCartney, and Rodger Dale McCartney; and 2 special souls
Those left to cherish his memory include wife Debbie Molandes McCartney; son, Heath McCartney and wife Jammie of Roxton, TX; grandsons Dillon Pipes of Huntsville, TX and Sean McCartney of Roxton, TX; sister, Sheila Jacobs of Shreveport La; and brother, Ronnie McCartney of Conroe, TX.
A visitation for Rickey will be held Friday, February 18, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors, 5400 North St, Nacogdoches, Texas 75965. Following the visitation will be a graveside service at 3:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Park, 5127 North Street, Nacogdoches, Texas.
Serving as pallbearers are David Ellington, Scott Molandes, Leo Berry, Devin Sparks, Jared Martin, Cameron Martin, Chester Sessions, and Bruce Dunbar.
Honorary pallbearers include John Crofton, Jim Taylor, Charlie Muckleroy, Jay Malarcher and Caylop Patrick.
