On April 7, 1990, he married the love of his life, Ramona Gwen Johnson, at Rocky Top Country Music Park on a beautiful spring day in Cushing, Texas. The two shared a love that many search an entire lifetime to find. They were each other’s favorite person and were each other’s sanctuary. Jack had a passion for spreading the word of Christ. He could pick up any instrument and teach himself how to play. He shared his gift of music with the world every chance he was given. He always said he was the smartest man he ever knew. He’d joke, “I’m doin’ all the tellin and none of the knowin’”. He always aspired and succeeded to be a modern day “Renaissance Man.”
He is survived by his wife Ramona; his son, Jarrod Wayne Lee of Long Branch, Texas; his 2 daughters, Jaime Richelle Cruz of Houston, Texas and Jessi Amanda Lee of Laneville, Texas; his 4 grandchildren, Aleena “Brie”, Jazmine Kay, Joshua Lee, and Aliza Claire; his sisters, Brenda Lee and Connie Bennett; his brother, Steve Lee; his niece, Rebecca Bennett, and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Opal Brown; his stepfather, Mister Brown; and father-in-law, Leo Johnson.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2019, at Laneville Baptist Church, 7090 FM 1798, Laneville, Texas, 75667.
