Mr. Cooper was born June 30, 1921, in Kaufman Texas, the son of the late Katherine and Dewey Cooper. He was a former longtime resident of San Augustine County. Jack retired as a pipeline inspector following several years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Delores Cooper of Nacogdoches; daughters, Linda Huffman of Hemphill, Texas, Jean Culver of Dallas, Texas, and Diann Chavez of Dallas, Texas; step-daughters, Kim Shutter and Monica Polley, both of Nacogdoches; son, Jack Wayne Cooper of Houston, Texas; step-son, Kenny Wall of San Augustine, Texas; sister, Bobbie Cooper of Ore City, Texas; 16 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a wife, Ruth Cooper; sons, Jackie Cooper, David Cooper, Danny Cooper,a nd Ronnie Cooper; and brothers, Pat Cooper and Coonie Cooper.
Funeral services are set for 9:30 a.m. Saturday, July 9, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel, located at 5400 North Street in Nacogdoches, Texas, with Rev. Glenn Jordan officiating. Interment will follow at Rosevine Cemetery, located on FM 1 in the Rosevine Community of Sabine County, Texas.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 8, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Cason Monk-Metcalf.
