On January 2, 2018 the Lord called our Daddy, Herbert Cleo Lowery, Home to be with Him. He was born April 5, 1928 to W.L. and Nettie Lowery in Nacogdoches County, Texas. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served in the Korean War. He retired from the oil field business where he worked most of his life. He was always a hard worker at whatever he did, whether it was woodworking, keeping a well-manicured lawn, working on his motorcycle, lawn mowers, and vehicles, or cooking up delicious meals for his family. He always had sweet treats for his grandchildren. He was an avid reader. He loved Louis Lamour novels and the writings of Max Lucado. He attended Stallings Drive Church of Christ.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Dub Lowery, sister Betty Jo Lowery, and wives Georgia Louise Powdrill and Nancy Clifton.
He leaves behind his son Scott Lowery and his wife Nancy, daughter Stacey Beckham and her husband Dennis, and daughter Sandra Riddle, step-children Vickie Corley, Larry Clifton, and Brenda Fowler, grandchildren Zachary Lowery, Jeremy Lowery, Jacob Lowery, Sara Thomas, Joshua Beckham, Brandon Stutts, and Courtney Bundage, step-grandchildren Heather Shriver, Logan McFadden, Kristie Cunningham, and Curtis Fowler, great-grandchildren Brooklyn, Jordan, Braxton, Harper, Mack, Bear, and Kutter.
We are rejoicing that our Daddy is safely in the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Thursday, January 11, 2018, at Cason Monk-Metcalf, located at 5400 North Street in Nacogdoches. Mr. Lowery will be interred at Sunset Memorial Park.
