She was born November 11, 1926, in Hereford, Texas, to parents Sally and Marion Winston Fields. She had lived most of her life in Las Cruces, New Mexico, and relocated to Nacogdoches in recent years. She was a dedicated wife and mother to her family as well as a faithful servant of Christ.
She and Bernard Fox Brown were married October 28, 1944, in California and would have soon celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.
In addition to her husband, her survivors include a daughter, Charlcy Green of Roswell, New Mexico; daughter, Gail Ann Martinez and husband J.P. of Nacogdoches; granddaughter, Clarissa Harper and husband Tyrel of Silver City, New Mexico; grandson, Matthew Norman and wife Shaundra of Carlsbad, New Mexico; grandson, Adam Thomas Allen of Fort Worth, Texas; and great-grandchildren, Graylin Harper, Kinley Harper, Calissa Norman, Peyton Norman, and Coby Norman.
Preceding Mrs. Brown in death were her parents; two brothers; and three sisters.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 25, 2014, at Cason Monk-Metcalf, located at 5400 North Street in Nacogdoches, Texas.
Graveside rites are set for 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 26, 2014, at Sunset Memorial Park, located at 5127 North Street in Nacogdoches, Texas, with Pastor Pat Kelly of Fredonia Hill Baptist Church officiating.
