She was born as Elsie Faye Curry to Walter Travis Curry and Eva Lee (Conway) Curry on January 9, 1926, in Garrison Texas. After graduating from Garrison High School, she moved to Houston and met Horace Leon Conner, and they were married on June 30, 1945 until his death on April 22, 1995. After his death, on June 26, 1999, she married Grover Cleveland (GC) Adams Jr. until his death on June 12, 2010. She moved to Garrison Nursing Home in September 2009 until her death. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
Siblings include Travis Curry (deceased) and wife Ruby of Garrison; Harvey Curry (deceased) and wife Ludie of Timpson; Ruby Henderson; Georgia Beard of Garrison; Joyce Tidwell and husband Mack of Henderson; and Doris Barrett (deceased).
Children include Ronald Conner (deceased) and his wife, Beverly of Fort Worth; Stephen Conner and his wife Deidre, David Conner and his wife Janice (first wife, Darrelyn deceased); Gary Conner and his special friend Nun Lim all of Houston; and Rebecca Crawford and husband Robert Crawford of Garrison.
Grandchildren are DarrIn Conner and wife Terri; Brian Conner and wife Janette; Lindsey Matthews and husband Ryan; Tyler Conner; George Conner and wife April; Nicki Smock and husband Jacob; Brandon Conner and wife Karelia; Melissa Crawford; Christopher Crawford and wife Megan; Melanie Johnson
and husband Lee.
Great-grandchildren are Brianna, Kelly, Cody, Faith, Will and Katherine Conner; Jimmy and Sam Smock; Gabriel Pena; Austin Palyola, Amrita Love; Brooklyn and Aaron Crawford; Mackenzie and Josiah Johnson.
Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dearly loved friends, too many to mention, will all miss her, too.
She had a full and wonderful life raising her family in a Christian home. Former church membership includes Liberty Road Baptist Church, Timbergrove
Baptist Church, and Lazybrook Baptist Church. She taught Sunday school, volunteered at school, worked full time as a secretary for places like Tidy Didy Baby Laundry, Bentley Nevada Company and Rawson and still made time to cook dinner.
Family and friends will miss her, but she is in a much better place reunited and rejoicing with family and friends that have gone on before.
A visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015, at Cason Monk-Metcalf, 5400 North St in Nacogdoches.
A visitation in Houston will be held 12:30-1:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30, 2015, at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 1101 Antoine Drive. Services will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Woodlawn Funeral Home chapel. Interment will be at Woodlawn Garden of Memories.
