Corey Thomas Farrell

Corey Thomas Farrell, age 87, of Appleby, Texas passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2022. Corey was born January 1, 1935, in Martinsville, Texas the youngest son of James Emmitt and Lottie Mae Lock Farrell. He attended Martinsville High School through the 10th grade and completed his final 2-years of high school at Dayton High School where he graduated in 1954. He served his country in the US Army and upon discharge he married Shirley Ann James on August 25, 1956. Retired from the US Postal Service in Nacogdoches after 37 years of service. During his retirement years he enjoyed woodworking and gardening. He was a member of the Appleby Church of Christ. As his health declined, he spent his days watching/listening to old westerns and his evenings reading his Bible or listening to his audio Bible. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, James Earle Farrell, Oscar Wilbur Farrell, Ernest Leroy ‘Doc’ Farrell, Joseph Bryan ‘Ben’ Farrell, Eli Monroe Farrell; his sisters, Ruby Covington, and Naomi Mills; his daughter, Cynthia Christian, and granddaughter Courtney Farrell.

Corey is survived by his wife of more than 65 years, Ann Farrell of Nacogdoches, TX; sons, Jim Farrell and wife Teresa of Nacogdoches, TX; Bryan Farrell and wife Julie of Martinsville, TX; son-in-law Chuck Christian of Appleby, TX; grandchildren, Thomas Christian, Keith Christian, Blake Farrell (Demi), Robert Farrell (Emily), Morgan Weaver (Frank), and Lindsey Farrell; great granddaughters Ginny Farrell, Mary Jo Farrell; great grandsons Kayden Weaver and Kamden Weaver; step great granddaughter Charlee Taylor; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
