Funeral services for Charles Linvell Perkins, age 70, will be held Monday, April 19th at10:00 A.M. at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel in Nacogdoches with the Reverend Jerry Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at the Alazan Cemetery in Nacogdoches. Mr. Perkins died April 16, 2010.
He was born to O.B. and Mary Etta Perkins, March 23, 1940 in Nacogdoches, Texas.
Linvell was a life-long resident of Nacogdoches. He started his career working in the garage of Charles Bright making fishing lures. Shortly after, he helped build the first wooden chicken coop which led to his 40 year career at Bright Coop, Inc.. Linvell loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed deer hunting. He found enjoyment both in his flower and vegetable gardens. Linvell enjoyed the Christmas season with his family and friends and will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
Linvell is preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie Lois, brother, Travis Billingsley, and sisters, Juanita Johnson, and Christine Jones.
Linvell is survived by his four sons, Terry Perkins and wife, Linda, Clayton Perkins and wife, Janet, Karl Perkins, James Perkins, and daughter, Vickie McMurtray and husband, John, all of Nacogdoches. He is survived by grandchildren, Rodney Whitaker, Ashley Perkins, Terry Perkins Jr., Morgan Perkins, Patrick McMurtray, Summer Perkins, Kalli Perkins, Jason Perkins, and great-grand children, Madalyn Whitaker and Karen Elizabeth Perkins. Mr. Perkins is also survived by his brothers, Clifford Perkins and wife, Frances, Billy Perkins and wife, Marsha, Jerry Perkins and wife, Lois Marie, Johnny Mac Perkins, sister Joyce Mason and husband, Martin, all from Nacogdoches, brother, Allan Ray Perkins and wife, Olena of Pearland, Texas.
Pallbearers will include Mike Russell, Shawn Fore, Jake Russell, Marty Sowell, Scott Styles, and Randy Smithhart.
Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. in the Fredonia Rusk room at Cason Monk Funeral Directors located at 5400 North Street in Nacogdoches.
