Brendan Walsh

Brendan Walsh, age 76, of Nacogdoches, Texas passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 in Nacogdoches. Brendan was born in Belfast Northern, Ireland on December 5, 1948 to David Walsh and Mary McGrady Walsh.

Brendan graduated with a BBA in accounting and economics, and an MBA and went on to become a CPA. He taught accounting at Stephen F. Austin State University at first and then was a CPA in the financial aid office for over 30 years. Brendan proudly volunterred to served in the United States Navy from 1969-1972, even though he was not a United States citizen.

Brendan is survived by his wife of 50 years, Carol Leigh Eaton Walsh; brothers, Jerry Walsh and Jim Walsh and wife Belinda; 8 loving cats, Zelda, Pyewacket, Luna, Tilda, Atticus, Hermione, Freya and Rowan.

He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, David Walsh, Al Walsh, Nancy Walsh Clarke, Mary Walsh Gillam, Bridget Walsh Hillin, Sheila Walsh Sullivan and Patrick Walsh.

Brendan loved antiques, especially antique dolls and toys, antique holiday items and truly loved cats. He loved building and working on our old houses and gardening.

A visitation for Brendan will be held Monday, December 16, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors, 5400 North Street, Nacogdoches, TX 75965. Following the visitation will be a graveside service, 12:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Park, 5127 North St, Nacogdoches, TX 75965.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Nacogdoches Animal Shelter or Adopt and Neuter A Pet.
