Marie was born December 6, 1924, the daughter of Edward and Angeline Lacompte. She married Earl Zerns Sr. and together they enjoyed over 50 years of marriage until his death in 1995. Marie was a member for many years at the former Henry Street Baptist Church. She worked for American Coil Spring, Kersman’s, a local laundry mat, and volunteered at Hackley Hospital. She enjoyed camping, hockey and arena football games, and cooking. She was a special, kind, loving, caring, helpful woman who will be deeply missed.
Marie is survived by: her daughter, Karen Zerns; grandchildren, Nicholas Howard and Devida (Ken) Macleod; and great-grandchildren, Preston, Hunter, and Brianna; and son-in-law, Patrick (Barb) Howard.
She was preceded in death by: her husband; son, Earl Zerns III; and daughter, Marilyn Howard.
A visitation will be held from 12-2pm on Friday, June 18, 2021 at Ever Rest Funeral Home and Cremation Chapel 1783 E Keating Avenue Muskegon 49442. A graveside service will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
