June Elaine Rice

In her youth, she was active in Christian Endeavor and Women’s Fellowship. She was a graduate of Uhrichsville High school and Muskingum College. June was a dedicated teacher for 30 years. Her teaching journey included time in Columbus, Indiana, Tuscarawas, Midvale, and Uhrichsville, Ohio. Later, she joined Danny Spring and Associates Realty as a real estate broker. She was a lifelong member of the Uhrichsville Moravian Church. As well as a member of Review Club, a 40-year member of College Club, and several card clubs. June enjoyed ceramics, painting, and wood crafting. Her greatest joy was her family. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, and special times with nieces Linda and Pam, and nephew Stephen. June had lived in the West Michigan area since 2013 with daughter, Lisa. June will be dearly missed by all who knew her. 

June was preceded in death by: husband, Roy Rice; parents, Henry and Thelma Spring; brother, Danny Spring; and stepson, Gene Rice.

 She is survived by: daughters, Lisa (Tom) Smith, and Amy (Adam) Ritchie; stepdaughters, Terrie (Bryon) Bradshaw, and Cheryl (Eric) Lautzenheiser; sisters, Bette Anne Spring, and Marilyn (Robert) Miller; brother, Bobby (Shari) Spring; sister-in-law, Kathy Spring; as well as, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many caring nieces and nephews. 

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at 1:00pm at Uhrichsville Moravian Church, 315 N Water St, Uhrichsville, OH 44683. Family will greet guests one hour prior to the start of the service. Burial has taken place at Clay Union Cemetery in Gnadenhutten, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Uhrichsville Moravian Church.
