Herman Erickson was born on January 20, 1921 in Muskegon to the late Oscar and Christina (Johnson) Erickson. On March 13, 1954 in Muskegon he was married to Mary Dyer and she survives. Along with his wife he is survived by two daughters, Kathleen (Gary) Olsen and Karen (Brian) Thurston; two sons, Roy Erickson and Mitchell (Lisa) Erickson; grandchildren, Carrie (Shawn) Bechtel, Heather (Jason) Jarvis, Jillian Erickson, Ryan Erickson, Nicholas Erickson, Andrew Erickson, Kyle Thurston, Zachery Thurston and Cole Erickson; great-grandchildren, Brittany Spoelma, Izabella Erickson, Ellyse Jarvis and Robert Chilcote; sister Anna Lothschultz; his mother-in-law, Mae Dyer; many nieces and nephews. Including his parents, Herman was also preceded in death by seven sisters and four brothers; and a grand-daughter, Sara Erickson. According to his wishes cremation has taken place and a visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at the Holton United Methodist Church, 9530 Holton Duck Lake Road. Memorial contributions may be directed to Harbor Hospice or the charity of the donor’s choice.
