Genevieve Hawkins Wilson, age 73, of Muskegon passed away December 03, 2018 with her son Mark and daughter-in-law Lori Wilson by her side. Gen was a very hard working and extremely giving person where family came first to the extent of her going without to ensure their needs were met. She was born October 17, 1945 in Muskegon to Louis “Bud” Hawkins and Genevieve “Genny” E. Johnson Erickson. Gen attended Lake School until the 9th grade then attended and graduated from Ravenna High School where she enjoyed cheerleading, music and dance. She won many dance contests and one of her fondest memories was in the early 1960’s dancing on “The McKay Show” be-bop hour broadcasted by WZZM-13 at the Pantlind Hotel in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
In April 1963, she married Wayne Henry Wilson who preceded her in death November 1988. Her father, Louis “Bud” Hawkins, mother, Genevieve “Genny” E Johnson Erickson (July 2001), and sister, Charlotte “Char” L. Hawkins Crosby (July 2000) also preceded her in passing.
Gen is survived by 1 son, Mark H. (Lori) Wilson; 1 grandson, Mark A Lazarock; 1 nephew, Robert A. (Ann) Crosby; 3 great nephews, Justin, Eli and Jace Crosby; 1 great niece, Amanda Crosby.
There will be a private service held at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions to Harbor Hospice of Muskegon, Michigan would be appreciated.
