Carlynn Johnson, aged 71, peacefully passed away on Monday, June 10, 2024, in Muskegon, Michigan. Born and raised in Muskegon to Carl and Verna (Cottrall) Johnson, Carlynn's life was a whirlwind of excitement.
Carlynn began her journey through Orchard View Public School before relocating to Fremont later in life. However, her heart always remained in Muskegon, where she found solace in the familiar sights and sounds of her hometown. As a mother, Carlynn's fondest memories were created at the beach, where she and her children shared a daily of joy and laughter. Carlynn's freespirit shone brightly through her active involvement in community events, always ready to show support for the community that she loved.
Carlynn had an adventurous soul and truly embraced her wanderlust, always eager to explore new places, and express her vibrant personality through her ever-changing nail colors. Despite the occasional disagreement, Carlynn and her sister shared an unbreakable bond. They spent countless delightful hours together, cherishing cozy barbecues and enjoying the tranquil beauty of the lakeside, creating cherished memories that would last a lifetime. In the serenity of her gazebo, Carlynn found peace watching the blooms of the flowers and the playful dances of squirrels, and especially the hummingbirds. The fondness of the quiet outdoors was matched only by her affection for a cup of coffee and a cigarette.
She is survived by her mother, Verna Coon; her children: Melissa (Cory) DeHaan and Kevin (Aimee) Johnson; her grandchildren: Nicolas Johnson, Austin DeHaan, Nighall Johnson, and Nathan Johnson; her sisters: Bonnie Johnson, Cindy Carlson, Christine (John/Mike) Hubert, Janis Johnson Burgess, Julie Johnson, Kelly (Karl) Genson; and numerous other beloved family aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Carlynn is preceded in death by her father, Carl Reuben Johnson; her son, Michael Johnson; and her brothers, Tim Rouse and Bruce Johnson.
Cremation has occurred, and a celebration of Carlynn's life will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at 5900 Staple Rd, Twin Lake, Michigan. Carlynn's warmth, and generosity will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
