Marlene Blakeman

Marlene Blakeman, age 68, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, passed away the morning of Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. She was the daughter of the late Roe and Virginia Smith Collins. Marlene is survived by her husband Tim Blakeman; daughters, Angie Greer and her husband, Todd and Tiffany Parker and her husband James; grandchildren, Shiloh and Zoe Greer and Zachary and Cheyenne Brown; sister, Rachal Bailey and her husband Bill; brother, Dillard Collins; stepson, Austin Blakeman; niece, April Crawford and her son; nephew, John Crawford and his wife Christi and their children . She is preceded in death by nephew, Joshua Hollingsworth.

Service to celebrate Marlene will be at Eleven O’clock the morning of Friday, March 31, 2023 at Roselawn Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Byers officiating. Placement will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends are cordially invited to visitation Thursday evening March 30, 2023 from Four O’clock until Seven O’clock.

Marlene was born in Manchester, KY and got her bachelor’s degree in Microbiology at Eastern Kentucky University and her master’s at Murray State University. She lived a majority of her life in Kentucky moving to Tennessee 13 years ago. Her strength and endurance gave us many years with her and she was a calm in any storm. She impacted so many lives with her quiet spirit, pointing to the Lord, and kindness, being described as pure love. She will be missed by many but would want us to keep our hope in the saving Grace of Jesus.
