Gwendolyn Ann Diller died March 27, 2024, in Tullahoma, Tennessee. She was born January 17, 1930, in Chicago, Illinois, married John E. Diller in 1949, at Bethany Lutheran Church, in Naperville, Illinois. In 1984, she moved to Belleair Bluffs, Florida, with her husband, who retired as Naperville’s Assistant Postmaster. In Belleair Bluffs, John served as City Commissioner and Mayor. After his death, she moved to Tennessee to be near family.
In Naperville, Gwen served as president of Beebe School and General Home & School Association, played saxophone and served on the board of the Naperville Municipal Band for 34 years, was a Sunday School Teacher, 4-H Leader and managing editor of the Naperville Sun Newspaper, retiring as associate editor in 1984. In Belleair Bluffs, she was a member of the Belleair Garden Club, Tampa Bay Culinary Club and served as historian, publicity and greeter chairman at Christ The King Lutheran Church in Largo, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Anna Mae Foreman; her husband, John; and grandson, Trent Simon. She is survived by two children, Craig Diller and his wife Cathy of Manchester, Tennessee and Nancy Simon and her husband Tim of Knoxville, Tennessee; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
A memorial gathering will be held at Tullahoma First Methodist Church in Tullahoma, Tennessee on Sunday, April 14, 2024 beginning at 2:00pm with a memorial service to begin at 3:00pm. Arrangements are being made by Roselawn Funeral Home in Murfreesboro, Tennessee and Serenity Funeral Home in Largo, Florida and burial to be in Serenity Gardens in Largo, Florida.
