Elise M. Mcknight

Mrs. Katherine Elise McKnight, age 102, of Murfreesboro, passed away on October 26, 2012 at Adams Place. Mrs. McKnight was born in Lee County Happy, AR and was the daughter of the late A. J. and Clyde Mae McDaniel.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband S. D. McKnight and sister Annie Mae Robertson. She is survived by her son Steve and (Pat) McKnight of Murfreesboro, TN and a daughter KaKi and (Richard) Power Bethesda, MD; grandchildren, Lance and (Barbara) McKnight of Houston TX, Troy and (Andrea) McKnight of Murfreesboro TN, Susanna Cowan and (Ross McSweeney) of Chicago IL, Daniel Power of Bethesda MD; step-granddaughter, Tina and (Adam) Petrig of Murfreesboro TN; great-grandchildren, Kendall McKnight of Houston TX, Alexis McKnight and Chaney McKnight; step great-grandchildren, Brandon Petrig and Lindsey Petrig all of Murfreesboro TN; special nieces, Trecia Hays of Memphis TN, Barbara Knapp of Phoenix AZ, Jean Kilpatrick of Memphis TN, and Frances and (Maurice) Douglas of Germantown, TN and many great nieces and nephews.

She graduated with a B.S. Degree from Rhodes College and a Master's Degree from M.T.S.C. She was a Librarian at Mitchell Neilson for many years. She was a member of D.A.R. and the Murfreesboro Sewing Guild. She enjoyed traveling all over the world to learn different kinds of needlework. She attended First United Methodist Church.

Graveside service will be held at Roselawn Memorial Gardens on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Michael O'Bannon officiating. Friends will serve as active pallbearers.

Visitation with the family will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at Jennings & Ayers Funeral Home; 820 South Church St., Murfreesboro, TN 37130. 615-893-2422.
