Rita Mae Williams

Rita Mae Williams, 69, passed away Friday, October 14, 2022 at Greenfield Healthcare surrounded by loved ones. She was born Thursday, November 6, 1952, the daughter of James “Cricket” and Mary (Swafford) Williams. Rita graduated from Muncie Southside High School in 1970. She achieved her Bachelor’s degree at Ball State University but continued her education throughout her entire life. Rita was very active in a multitude of networking organizations. She was one of the co-founders of Pyramid of Enlightenment, which has touched the lives and hearts of many throughout the world. Rita was known by her loved ones as a spiritual leader, she considered anyone who came across her path as family. She was too kind-hearted for her own good. Her babies were her cats Shadow, Merlin, Thor, and her special baby Loki. Survivors include her siblings, Lee Ann Cornell Williams, Debra Williams, Patricia Thomas, and Mark Lindemoen; a niece, Velvet (Zach) Williams; a nephew, Aaron Cornell; and a large extended family and many friends. She was preceded in passing by her parents; sister, Trilba Williams; and good friends, Don Hughes and Laura Vollmer. Family and friends may call from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, October 21, 2022, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304. Services will be held Friday, October 21, 2022, at 2 p.m. at Elm Ridge Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Elm Ridge Memorial Park.
