Richard "Barney" Barnhouse

He was born Friday, January 12, 1945, the son of Lovett and Nancy (Green) Barnhouse. Barney proudly served in the United States Navy. He was a photographer for newspapers and race tracks. Barney loved fishing, boating, and restoring and refinishing furniture. He was a small engineer repairman. Barney retired from General Motors in Muncie after 42 years.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Rita Barnhouse; children, Joe (Kristi) Barnhouse and Leslie (Greg) Grabhorn; grandchildren, Zach, Kaci, Rachelle, Lake, Jayden, Caden, Ben, and Landon; and great-granddaughter, Piper.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Gay, Martha, Patty, Donna, Mike, Jill, and Jack.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304. Burial will follow at Hawk Cemetery with military honors.

Family and friends may call from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Elm Ridge Funeral Home.
