Norman Lewis Brown

Norman Lewis Brown passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at I.U. Ball Memorial Hospital following a three month illness.
He was born June 10, 1941 in Paoli, Indiana, but lived in Muncie most of his life. He was the son of William M. and Bertha Goforth Brown, the husband of Carrie June Jones Brown, and the father of Jeffrey N. Brown. Norman graduated from Yorktown High School in 1959 where he had played on the varsity basketball team.
Norman was employed at Warner Gear for over 45 years. He was a charter member of McCormick View Chapel Church and later faithfully attended Chesterfield Community Church. He loved music and sang and performed locally with the Five Grand Band. He also sang at churches and events. He was an excellent vocalist and played steel guitar.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Carrie June Jones Brown; son, Jeffrey N. Brown; brother, Raymond (Marylyn) Brown, Anderson; sisters, Mary Gustin, Markleville, Sharon (Gary) Kramer, Anderson, Dana Christman, Muncie; brother-in-law, Bob Jones; sister-in-law, Lois Eller; son-in-law, Randy Gaw; and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Norman was preceded in death by his daughter, Kimberly; parents, William M. and Bertha Goforth Brown; sisters, Martha Brown and Deloris Lacy; nephews, Thomas Brown and Jeffrey Kramer; brother-in-laws, Gerald (Nancy) Jones, Ron Eller, Lee Gustin and Mike Christman; and sister-in-laws, Betty (Clyde) Evans and Wanda Jones.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 10, 2023, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304. Burial will follow at Elm Ridge Memorial Park.
Family and friends may call from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Elm Ridge Funeral Home.
