Michael Joseph Terrell

Michael J. Terrell, 70, of Muncie, passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2022. He was born in Muncie on Tuesday, March 27, 1951, to Wilbur Gene Terrell and Peggy Cassity. Michael spent his early years in Windfall and Muncie and graduated from Windfall High School. He married Mary Curtis on July 24, 1970, and she survives.

Michael worked for McCarty Lumber Company as a delivery driver for eighteen years. He also worked as a truck driver for Salem Poultry in Anderson for twelve years. After that, he worked in night security for the Oasis.

Michael enjoyed playing cards and was quite the jokester. He loved sports and his favorite teams were Notre Dame, New York Yankees, the Mets, and the “Baltimore Colts”. He loved his grandchildren immensely and would drive them to where they needed to be. He was well known at fast-food restaurants and was called “Uber Grandpa” by his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed.

Michael leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of fifty-one years, Mary; sons, Tom (Nicole) Terrell and Michael Terrell Jr; daughter, Tami Terrell; brother, Roger (Allyson) Cassity; sister, Ronda (Tom) Patton and Teresa McConnaughey; grandchildren, Emma Terrell, Lilli Terrell, Bradley Terrell, Lucas Terrell, and Aidan Sizemore; step-mother, Peggy Buchanan; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Wilbur Gene Terrell; his mother and step-father, Peggy and Ronald Cassity; sisters, Marla Grubb, Mila “Molly” Grubb, Nina Everling, and Ronda Cassity; and a grandson, Conner Terrell.

Family and friends may call on Friday, January 14, 2022, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Elm Ridge Funeral Home.

A memorial service will be Friday, January 14, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304. Cremation will take place. Elm Ridge Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
