Michael D. Snider

Michael David “Mike” Snider, 81, passed away Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Indiana University Ball Memorial Hospital. Mike was born on May 23,1942, the son of Marvin and Evelyn (Utt) Snider. He attended Mount Summit High School, where he graduated in 1961. Mike worked at Borg Warner as an electrician for 48 years until his retirement in 2009. Mike had a business on the side as well where he would repair electronics. He was an inventor, prankster, ham radio operator, and avid music and radio fan. Mike once created his own radio station as a teenager in which he would play music for himself and his friends while cruising. In his spare time he enjoyed playing guitar, tinkering with electronics, and was very competitive in Euchre with family and tennis with his buddies. Mike is survived by his wife of twenty-four years, Muoi (Lan) Snider; daughters, Terry Snider, Cindy Snider, and Amy (Jason) Ludwick; sisters, Roberta Vaughn and Carolyn (Jeff) Sagerman; grandchildren, Nicholas (Angela), Austin (Melinda), Audra, Carinna, and Abigail (Brandon); great-grandsons, Sterling and Maverick; and several nieces and nephews, great- nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. Mike was preceded in passing by his wife of twenty-four years, Joyce Snider; his parents; brothers, Herbert Snider and Marvin Snider Jr; sister, Nancy Kepner Miller; and a grandson, Kaleb Snider. Calling hours will be from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at Elm Ridge Funeral Home. Family and friends come and share your favorite memories. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304. Burial will follow at Elm Ridge Memorial Park.
