Melvin L. Reese

He was born July 23, 1941 in Warren County, Indiana, the son of Edward Everett, Sr. and Dortha Della (Smith) Reese.

Melvin retired from Marsh Warehouse in Yorktown after forty years of service.

He volunteered at Indiana District Assemblies of God and Lake Placid Christian Conference Center. Melvin also painted murals for several churches and did set design for many theatre productions for Yorktown High School and several churches.

He enjoyed quilting, having made many over the years.

Melvin is survived by his son, Steve (Angie) Reese; daughters, Reverend Melissa (Larry) Turney and Reverend Jennifer Reese; brothers, Cletas (Judy) Reese, Junior (Karen) Reese, and Eldon (Sue) Reese; sisters, Donnabelle (Gerald) Hutchison, LaVonne (Carl) Neef, Ireta (Bob) White, and Anita Cunningham; grandchildren, Lauren (Reverend Zach) Gidcumb, Evan Turney, Kinsey Reese, Kendall Reese, Andrea (Lucas) Hart, Zach Roberts, as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of nearly fifty years, Vonda Reese; brothers, Vernon Reese and Allen Reese.

Services will be Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304, with Reverend Larry Turney officiating.

Visitation will be at Elm Ridge Funeral Home on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m.

Burial will immediately follow the service at Elm Ridge Memorial Park.
