Joanna M. McKibben

Joanna Mae Williams McKibben, 94, Yorktown, entered her heavenly home on Sunday, February 18, 2024. She was born Friday, April 5, 1929, in Yorktown, the daughter of Floyd Sr. and Hazel (Perry) Sollars. Joanna graduated from Yorktown High School in the class of 1947. She married Melby Williams in 1951 and had three beautiful daughters. She lost her husband too soon and raised her wonderful daughters with the strength and her faith in Jesus. Joanna worked at Yorktown Elementary School as the school secretary where many students and teachers loved her. Her Christian faith and kindness were a shining reminder of her commitment to her Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a member of Yorktown Christian Church where she was involved in CWF and the Piecemakers quilting group. She was known as the “knot head” of the group. Joanna loved being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, quilting, painting, puzzling, and polishing her nails daily. Survivors include her daughters, Dianna (husband, Tim) Liddy, Debra (husband, Paul) Johnson, and Denise (husband, Steve) Folgate; eight grandchildren, Ryan (wife, Lyndsy) Liddy, Bradley (wife, Christine) Johnson, Meghan (husband, Mike) Zick, Kimberly (husband, Dustin) Oberlin, Lisa (husband, Kevin) Eckerty, Kristy (husband, Aaron) Willis, Erin (husband, Brock) Hagerman, and Brett (wife, Kelli) Johnson; and nineteen great-grandchildren. Her husbands, Melby Williams and George McKibben; one sister; and two brothers preceded her in death. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304. Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Memorial Park.
