IN THE CARE OF
Elm Ridge Funeral Home & Memorial Park
Eric J Dillard, 60, of Muncie, passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2024, with his devoted wife, Nikki Dillard by his side. He was born on Wednesday, July 10, 1963, in Muncie, Indiana, to the late Howard J. “Jerry” and Norma (Southerland) Dillard. He was a 1981 graduate of Yorktown High School.
Eric was a devoted husband, and loved his family and fur babies dearly. He spent most of his life working as a subcontractor in the building trades, but could do just about anything that needed done. Eric fought a long battle with cancer and kidney failure. He faced each new medical setback with grace and determination to last as long as he possibly could. Often times inspiring his Doctors to believe in miracles. He pushed himself to go beyond what was expected and wanted to be an inspiration to the other cancer and dialysis patients.
His last good day, February 2, was spent at IU Ball Memorial Hospital visiting with family and friends after being baptized and declaring himself a new man!
Eric will be missed by many. Those include his wife, Nikki Dillard; stepson, Charles (Mackenzie) Burchfield; grandchildren, Brooklyn, Kora, Scarlytte, and Arlo Burchfield; siblings, Sheri Linkous (Darrell); Lesli (Jeff) Robbins; Dean (Carrie) Dillard; many nieces and nephews, Jessie; Drake; Airel; Trevor; Paige; Christopher; uncles, (referred to as royalty), Greg and Dana Dillard and his aunt, Camille.
There will be no formal ceremony held at this time. Future date for celebration of his life is yet to be determined.
Elm Ridge Funeral Home has been entrusted with his arrangements.
