Melba A. Terrell

She was born in Evangeline and lived in Moss Bluff. She was of Catholic faith and later attended Glad Tidings Assembly of God with her family. She was also a graduate of Demon School of Hair Dressing. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister who especially enjoyed being with her family and was well known for her Sunday dinners with the family and her care packages for the grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, James M. Terrell of Moss Bluff; sons, Tony Terrell and wife Joanie of Moss Bluff; Jimmy Terrell and wife Lisa of Moss Bluff; daughter, Cheryl Terrell Shafer of Moss Bluff; sister, Alice Hooper of Westlake; ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Philibert and Mary Doucet; brothers, John M. Doucet, Curley J. Doucet, Lester Doucet and a sister, Mary Nell Chapman.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Jeremy Shafer, Dustin Shafer, Darren Shafer, Kristin Shafer Baggett, Brent Vest, Ryan Terrell, Chance Terrell, Brandon Terrell, Blake Terrell and Bryson Terrell.

Her service will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October, 24, 2012 at Hixson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff. Rev. Gary Evers and Msgr. Charles Dubois will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and resume Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Interment will be at New Ritchie Cemetery.
